Grilling and Roasting the Chinese Way

Grilling is an iconic street-food preparation in China. Go to any outdoor food market and you’ll find stalls with grilled meat and seafood of all kinds. (You can even find grilled insects and worms…but we’re not going there.) In this class, you’ll learn how to make Cantonese barbecue pork, Xinjiang cumin lamb skewers, grilled five-spice pork belly, grilled chicken wings, and more. You will also learn to make shaobing—baked sesame pockets that transform your grilled meats into delicious sandwiches. Your street-food menu includes: Barbecue Pork; Grilled Cumin Lamb; Grilled Five-Spice Pork Belly; Grilled Chicken Wings; and Shaobing (baked sesame pockets).
